About Michele

Michele Heaphy is a lifelong musician with a deep understanding of how instruments work—both in sound and structure.

She spent 16 years teaching instrumental music in Wyoming, where repairing and maintaining student instruments was part of everyday life.

Michele also owned and operated a pottery studio for 16 years, developing a strong sense of craftsmanship, precision, and comfort with tools and materials.

Michele's unique blend of musical knowledge, technical skill, and meticulous attention to detail makes her a natural at harmonium repair.

Michele is a senior instructor at Kirtan Leadership Institute who began leading Kirtan in 2015.

Since 2021 she has shared her deeply moving and inspiring original chants with Mike Cohen & The Shakti Groove.
