Fresh Tracks

Artists, including Kirtan artists, write, record and release original music... aka fresh tracks.

Back in the day we made albums. Forty or so minutes of music on good old vinyl.

Next came CD's. Still physical, and very durable. And, since they held about seventy minutes of music, we created even more music.

While vinyl and CD's are making a bit of a comeback, most of the action these days happens on streaming services. So, now artists create albumsEP's or singles for digital release only.

RECORDINGS BY KLI STUDENTS

With Kirtan Leader Institute support, a number of our students have gone on to create and release recording Kirtan music. KLI founder Mike Cohen released four full length Kirtan albums. We have intimately supported nine students in their process of writing, recording and releasing original sacred chant music. And, at least nine former students have gone on to create recorded music on their own.

We love supporting students in:

  • Preparing for their album project (writing album ready chants)
  • Navigating the recording studio experience, including the performance, mixing, editing and mastering presses)
  • Releasing their tracks and
  • Promoting their music.
